Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) Workshop: Session Two
April 21 @ 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm
Southwest Regional Development Commission invites you to a two-part planning session for the 2022-2027 Southwest Minnesota CEDS.
The Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) is a locally-based, regionally driven planning process designed to enhance the economic growth of Southwest Minnesota, and provides a process for individuals, organizations, local governments, higher education, and private industry to engage in a meaningful conversation about what capacity building efforts would best serve economic development in the region. Throughout 2021, SRDC will be seeking public input to drive the development of the CEDS.
The CEDS centers around four cornerstones: Human Capital, Economic Competitiveness, Community Resources, and Foundational Assets. The April 14 and April 21 workshops will provide an opportunity for participants to take a deep dive in developing regional goals and strategies within each of the four cornerstones, and identifying regional partners to help lead the implementation of these strategies.
Session 2 | April 21: In the second session, we will take a deep dive into the four cornerstones, explore goals and strategies to guide economic development in Southwest Minnesota over the next five years, and identify partners to help guide implementation of the goals. We will outline next steps in the CEDS planning process and explore the basic question of “Now what?”
